Not even one penny to Alistair Carmichael.

Our burrows are safe.

I have just from our lawyers that we are not going to have to pay Alistair Carmichael, the disgraced MP for Orkney and Shetland, any money at all.

Nothing is due.

It is too soon for us to react us a team – I am obviously relieved – intensely – and feeling vindicated.  He was the only conspirator who played a shoddy trick. He will need a lot of help from his friends who have not been generous so far.

We do not know our final bill yet – we will let you know – and thank you – thank you – thank you to the people who have contributed to what we have done and whose moral and financial support has made it possible.

Thank you.

Scotland held its breath and awaited perhaps a little justice. Congratulations, some was delivered.

Fantastic, just absolutely fantastic, just let us know if you need more, I’m sure it’ll be forthcoming, what a brilliant outcome just a pity he got off with that one charge. Lets’ hope the WM disciplinary procedure hammers him for wasting that £1.4 million with his lies

Thank you. Everyone who contributed was happy to do so, but without the four of you taking the lead, we would all have sat and fumed. Well done, and wish you all a well deserved break from worrying about this.

Good morning from Raleigh, North Carolina. This is wonderful news and, frankly, well-deserved whichever way you look at it. I must say that the financial support would have meant nothing without principled petitioners who, so far, have delivered on every promise made. That is the true victory here. Democracy belongs to the people.

Perhaps some of that self-belief will make it across the Atlantic before too long, in time to shape the federal elections.

Well done! I hope this will teach all the potential WM liars a lesson. We’re watching. His reputation’s in tatters now and deservedly so. We’re all so proud of you.

Wonderful news, you must all feel so relieved. I hope you have a wee party to yourselves.

Like Alastair says “{ stands and applauds}” I think I’m safe in saying that there is a virtual standing ovation for the Orkney 4 and the courage you showed in challenging the despicable liar Alasdair Carmichael.

Thank you, thank you, thank you.

The People of Scotland and crowd-funding, mean that NOBODY is more powerful than us.

  18. Wes Wemyss February 8, 2016 / 10:35 pm

Well done folks! We all owe you a vote of thanks for the courageous stand you took. Incidentally, the bill shouldn’t be too much of a hardship for Carbuncle – he can always cash in his Wastemidden pension if he’s a bit short!

Delighted to hear it! Long will you four courageous people stand for the spirit of democracy in Scotland. So proud to have been able to contribute to your campaign fund. Best wishes to you all.

The four of you have earned a place in Scotland’s history. Your names will live forever
