Come to Scotland, all you who are at home with freedom.

Today the Daily Mail ran a cartoon that compared migrants to rats – I am not linking to it, it is too disgusting.  It used the same imagery as the Nazis used to justify the persecution of the Jews.

That filthy racist rag does not speak for Scotland. We should not be surprised at what they do.  They supported the Nazis in the 1930s and have not changed.

To those running from oppression – we will find you space, we will share with you what we have and what we have not. You are welcome. Please come. If you promote peace, care about justice, love freedom, you are welcome in Scotland – we will be richer because you are here.

Hamish Henderson wrote the ‘Freedom Call Ye’ sung below by Lorraine McIntosh  below-

‘Come all ye at hame we’ freedom, nivver heed whit the hoodie croaks for doom.’

There is a video of Karine Polwart singing this in the Italian Chapel at Lamb Holm. Have a listen. It is absolutely brilliant.
